The World of Tomorrow Will Have Been Another Present

Opening | The World of Tomorrow Will Have Been Another Present

The exhibition The World of Tomorrow Will Have Been Another Present features five large-scale installations. Five exhibitions in one, linked by the participating artists’ different approaches to temporality. Nikita Kadan, Barbara Kapusta, Frida Orupabo, Lisl Ponger, and Anita Witek were  invited to enter into a dialogue with works of classical modernism they selected from the mumok collection. The artists build upon certain moments from the museum’s collection that resonate to the present day—beyond mere chronology and style histories, beyond supposedly linear narratives.

Curated by Franz Thalmair
in collaboration with Nikita Kadan, Barbara Kapusta, Frida Orupabo, Lisl Ponger, and Anita Witek
