Michael Part
Michael Part’s work begins with the chemical and physical conditions pertaining to photographic processes. The work is divorced from photography itself, as Part makes use of the tools and materials of photography by redefining their functions. In his program in the mumok cinema, Michael Part will speak about his artistic work and present examples. The evening also includes a film by the photojournalist and filmmaker Raymond Depardon, in which Depardon reviews and comments on his own artistic biography. Part’s and Depardon’s artistic methods and practice are very different, but this deliberate contrast creates a productive difference and dialogue.
