Some Butterflies
Program curated by Kathrin Wojtowicz
Pools, parks, beaches, a cemetery, an apartment, a hedge, a shopping street, garbage and scrap metal—interspersed with animals and people, plants and plastic, pillars, accessories, colors, and melodies. Between reality and fantasy, simulation and parody, this film program brings together idiosyncratic artistic positions that move through surreal landscapes, industrial ruins, iconic architecture or eclectic, trashy, and everyday backdrops in different times. The films reference each other and offer loose ends and commentaries on the present. “It's all about the future, although the future never comes” (Pippa Garner).
