In Heimo Zobernig’s Edition the interest of the artist in production processes is evident. This bronze candle holder shows traces of the casting process. Channels are used to pour liquid into the core, and also for its aeration. Grooves, dents, and ruptures as well as the characteristic white surface all come about during the casting process. These traces of manufacturing are usually removed after casting, but the artist has deliberately left them in order to show the conditions of production of art.
