Artist Talk with Liliane Lijn
Language runs through Liliane Lijn’s entire oeuvre. Ever since she first set a poem in motion by machine in the early 1960s, words and texts, printed, spoken and sung, have been among her artistic materials. From the end of February, Lijn’s work can be seen in two venues in Vienna: as part of the exhibition Radical Software: Women, Art & Computing 1960-1991 at Kunsthalle Wien and in her solo show Liliane Lijn. Arise Alive at mumok.
This will be celebrated with a jointly organized artist talk. Michelle Cotton (Artistic Director, Kunsthalle Wien) and Manuela Ammer (Chief Curator, mumok) talk to Liliane Lijn about the magic of language.
Time: Saturday, March 1, 3 to 4.30 pm
Location: Kunsthalle Wien and mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien
Meeting point: Kunsthalle Wien
The conversation will be held in English.
