“The film program Encounter shows works by various artists who look at the subject of territory and the occupation of space. They make use of different filmic means to achieve the appropriation in film of both real and imaginary spaces. They both extend and compress time, they use repetition and enactment. Further strategies include trickery, performative sets, and scripts with holes. These are all filmic attempts to come closer, to build or destroy a space in time.” Sonia Leimer
