Bogner collection

In 2007, the collectors Dieter and Gertraud Bogner donated an extensive part of their collection, which they had been building since the late 1970s, to the mumok. This donation, which includes more than 100 paintings, sculptures, objects, media works and spatial installations as well as 300 drawings, gouaches, prints, autographs, artists' books and archival materials from the fields of concrete, media-based and conceptual art, has since been continuously added to by further donations.

The most recent donation from 2022 comprises approx. 250 drawings, gouaches, graphic portfolios and objects, including works by Richard Artschwager, Marc Adrian, Robert Adrian X, Thom Barth, Herbert Boeckl, Kaucyila Brooke, Inge Dick, Tibor Gáyor, Kurt Ingerl, Donald Judd, Thomas Kaminsky, Richard Paul Lohse, Vera Molnár, Margot Pilz, Markus Prachensky and Ad Reinhardt, as well as a graphic cabinet full of works from the estate of Hildegard Joos from all phases of her graphic oeuvre. The concept of the Bogner Collection at mumok has thus been significantly strengthened.
