Poetry from JG Danso
JG Danso has re-edited and set to audio two poems, A Call to Return: When greed stole us for the digital program accompanying the Avant-Garde and Liberation exhibition. Another contribution Blackness, White and Light was created as part of the exhibition from Adam Pendeltonin 2023.
The poems offer an in-depth poetic exploration of the underlying themes in the works and aim to enrich the experience for you as a visitor.
JG Danso brings the energy of a social entrepreneur to human rights work. Drawing on her transdisciplinary academic training and over twenty years of expertise in promoting structural and institutionalized equal opportunities as a Black, British, intersectional feminist of West African descent, she introduces poetry based on these experiences into the debates.
She is chair of the association hint.wien and founder of the Queer Writers Circle Vienna, which supports diverse LGBTQIA+ communities through intersectional storytelling projects, and is also a board member of the Black Women’s Community.
