Edition Detail

In Otto Zitko’s all-over-drawings, the line is an autonomous design element that sets the picture in a state of vibrating tension. With lines, the artist breaks through the structures of space and draws independent new borders that redefine form and size.
The network of lines stands for both a direct form of artistic expression and a planned and constructed procedure.

The drafts for the seven prints in this edition are sketches for the wall drawings in mumok’s “hofstallung” building that Otto Zitko made for the exhibition Museum of Desires in August and September 2011.

Otto Zitko was born in 1959 in Linz and lives and works in Vienna.
